The Mini BSO is a quintet that
includes all four families of
musical instruments found in the Bournemouth Symphony
Orchestra.
In the last ten years the ensemble has encouraged,
entertained and educated thousands of children of all
ages.

The core of the work undertaken
by the group is based around an hour long concert. At
Key Stages 1 and 2 there are themed concerts that can
hold the attention of the youngest children while at
Secondary level a program of specifically composed and
arranged music is a prelude to composition based
workshops, concluding in a presentation of work.
‘Exciting, inspirational and fun’
"It
was fantastic! What can I say - I was quite choked at
the end of the performance. All the school community
came, everyone involved - The performance was very
spiritual - to me this is what music is about!!!"
The Mini BSO have been working
together as an ensemble for over ten years. The
musicians involved have a vast amount of experience in
schools with both curriculum linked and creative
composition projects. Other activities include work in
Special Schools, Teacher Training and community
projects. The musicians have undertaken a variety of
training initiatives and two of the group have gained
an MA in Music Education. Please browse the site to see
if we can provide you with a musical experience that is
exciting, informative and fun!
